SOY CALLEJERITO ANIMAL SHELTAR

We are two volunteers seeking to raise awareness of the critical needs at the Refugio Privado de Perritos Soy Callejeritos in Cusco, Peru. We have seen first hand the struggle and love that goes into caring for the dogs, and know that more should be done. Without government support, the Refuge relies solely on volunteers and donations. Many of the dogs rescued require serious medical treatment and longterm care. In addition, the daily expense of food is sometimes too much for the little shelter to bear. Our mission is to spread the word about the shelter, encourage individuals to volunteer, and raise money to help the shelter meet the most basic of needs. We are not here to judge the culture of Peru, we simply want to help.

Kids Saving the Rainforest is a non-profit organization based in Quepos, Costa Rica.

We operate a wildlife sanctuary that is home to nearly 50 animals who cannot be released back into the wild, and we offer educational tours to the public of our rescue center that rescues over 100 animals each year, and our primary goal is rehabilitating these animals to be released back into the wild. to help people learn about the dangers of human-wildlife interaction, the pet trade, etc, and to teach them how to respect wildlife and to engage in ecologically responsible tourism.

Costa Rica Animal Rescue

The Rescue Center is dedicated to protect and help endangered Costa Rican wildlife indigenous to our beautiful country. First and foremost, our goal is to ensure the welfare of injured animals and help them recover from their physical and psychological wounds.

We staff a team of experienced veterinarians who work at our on-site hospital in addition to the thousands of volunteers from around the world who have helped us over the past 10+ years.

We rescue, rehabilitate and when possible release the animals back to their natural habitat. We are a non-profit and receive no government help financially. The passion of the owners, dedication of our staff and generosity of our volunteers and donors makes everything possible.

Afya Foundation

The vision for Afya began to take shape in a tent in the Serengeti. It was 2008, I was in Tanzania, and my life was in transition. I didn’t realize it at the time, but in that dusty tent, with the distinctive smell of Acacia fires, I was coming face to face with my destiny – my calling.

First, some background. I began as an Occupational Therapist, trained to value the simple act of listening — not to our own voice and thoughts but to the person in front of us. I learned how possibilities generously race forward when people actively listen — with open minds. I brought this perspective to the land that birthed Afya…and listened carefully.

Las Vegas Rescue Mission

LVRM was founded in 1970 by a pastor and six businessmen who had a calling to help those who were homeless and hungry. Together, they secured a tiny storefront at 414 West Bonanza Road. By God’s grace, they provided sandwiches and drinks, along with mats and blankets for men to eat and sleep away from the elements.

We are more than just a shelter; we stand as a beacon of hope. We continue to adapt to meet the needs of men, women and children in an ever-changing society. Through effective, innovative Christian recovery programs, the Mission provides a path for those who want to escape the despair of the streets.

Noah,s Animal House

Noah’s Animal House in Las Vegas is a full-service boarding facility on the grounds of the largest women & children’s shelter in Nevada. It was built in 2007 as our flagship operation after recognizing how many other arrivals at The Shade Tree Shelter were desperately seeking the same safety and protection for their pets. After operating for over a decade, we have cared and protected over 1,500 pets for 100,000 boarding nights for the women and children at The Shade Tree. What we now know is that women won’t leave their pets behind to be abused as payback and with Noah’s Animal House, they no longer have to make that choice.
