COUNTRY INFORMATION
Located in North Africa, Europeans became interested in Morocco around the 1800s. France and Spain divided the land and colonized the country for forty-four years. After much opposition to European control, Morocco gained its independence in 1956 and has since undergone various political and social reforms. While economic policies have somewhat stabilized the economy, they haven’t spurred enough growth to cut down on the unemployment and poverty levels. If you’ve volunteered in Morocco, we’d love to hear about your experience. Please let us know which organization you signed up with, what your trip was like, and if you’d recommend the program to others. No Video Found
